TSB = Technical Service Bulletin... It's an informational bulletin published by a manufacturer covering procedures or clarifications. It's not a recall, but may cover how billing and/or repairs are handled should a customer have a problem or complaint with a vehicle. They usually charge a few bucks for a copy of a TSB, or your dealership may be cool & give up the info for free if you ask nicely at the Service Counter.

PS, I'm up to 107,500 miles, and the Aerio just keep scooting along! My trip to/from work is between 26 to 31 miles each way now, depending which route I take. Each end is about 3 miles of 30 -40mph travel, and in the middle is Indianapolis' 85mph freeways. I split the mileage between 3 cars year 'round, (and on some really nice days, I bring out the 4th). The Aerio will get some touch-ups with Rust-O-Lium on the suspension arms & engine cross member(s) this summer. A good scrub/shampoo of the interior is gonna happen also. Central Indiana really salts heavily in the winter.

227K is a bunch but it 's mostly just work and back, living in Texas in the country I drive 100 round trip daily, not many real road trips, well what we consider a REAL road trip anyway... it's nearly 228 this week... but I am expecting at least 300K just want to get my 5th gear to stay in, hate to think I have to change out my tranny because most of my miles were in 5th gear anyway... hiway and haulin a$$... great car! wish I would have bought two so I'd have a spare...

The shifter lever ties into a pair of shifting cables... these may have just s-t-r-e-c-h-e-d over time & miles.

Check with your dealer about having just the shifting cables adjusted. Also, there is a cam & guide bolt and two springs in the shifter itself, these may have worn just enough to also cause the problem you are talking about...

Hey, it may be cheaper than a trans! :)

PS - Like the plate

Thanks for the quick replies,.. I did try to adjust the cables, even took it to a mechanic who said if it were cables would probably jump out of 1st and 3rd also, but with 5th only it's probably just worn out,.. I really don't trust the dealer for mechanic work anyway, but may have to go there for a second opinion before throwing money at it, but in reality, it is nearly a quarter million miles,... guess my factory warranty doesn't cover it anymore huh? as good as it still looks, Zuki should make it their poster child and fix it for me... thanks again..

I just crossed 100k miles about 2 weeks ago in my 2003 SX. I've covered most of the state of Missouri, and nearly driven coast to coast in this car (Florida panhandle to central New Mexico). But to be fair, this car sat as a salvage vehicle for about a year.

I bought my '03 in '06 as a former salvage vehicle. The previous owner was t-boned in the driver side fender in 2004, and blew the airbags. Someone bought it in an auction and rebuilt it, but picked a car with the worst resale value on the planet. When i bought it, it had 33k miles on it.

My front bumper is also falling off. The 4 bolts under the hood are the only ones left that hold it up. Screws in the fenders just keep it straight. It has also nearly broken in half because of trucker debris on interstate highways in the middle of the night. Those re-tread bands jump out at you from nowhere.

Anyone else needed to replace the belt tensioner? Mine is destroying my belt now, and I am dreading the job. Not looking for a How-To, just wondering the mileage at which that was necessary for others...
2003 Yellow SX (FWD, Auto :(, disabled airbags) in one accident before I bought it, never did reset airbag computer.

I had to replace the belt tensioner at 54,000. The plastic inside the spring-loaded assy had cracked in several places. Went with NAPA parts when I replaced it.

I've got 132,000 on it now bought it with 40k. Only problems I've had was battery and my U/D pulley snapped in half. I changed the tensioner about 2 weeks before the pulley snapped and when it snapped it took out my brand new belt. I used an Autozone tensioner and now after going back to a stock pulley I have some rattling and am pretty sure its the tensioner so I would advise against an AZ tensioner.
